Copal oil is extracted from tree resin that has been used since pre-Columbian times in Mexico.

Copal oil can be used in many different ways. Here are a few examples:

* It can be used as a protective oil, to shield yourself from other people’s energy — for example, if you work in services (massage, hairstyling) or are going into a crowd and don’t want to absorb others’ energy. When used as a protective oil, apply it to all joints.

* The oil has a delightful scent and can be used as a perfume oil or, for example, as a beard oil.

* Copal has anti-inflammatory, healing, and antifungal properties, making the oil effective for eczema, allergic skin reactions, wounds and infections, insect bites, and burns.

In Mexico, copal is used to cleanse the atmosphere, remove negative energy, purify spaces for ceremonies (such as new and full moon rituals), cleanse auras (for example, before temazcal sweat lodges), set intentions, and more.
